Hamid Ansari Sworn as 14th Vice President for 2nd term-"11/08/2012"

Hamid Ansari took oath as the 14th vice president of India for second term. This ceremony was held at Rastrapati bhawan  in New Delhi on 11 August 2012. Ansari was administered the oath of office by president Pranab Mukherjee at a function attended by P.M Man Mohan. congress chief Sonia and all other leaders and Party members. UPA candidate Ansari had defeated National democratic Alliance (NDA) nominee Jaswant Singh by a margin of 252 votes in the vice President election held on 7 Aug 2012  to secure another term in office. His first term from 2007-12.
The UPA and its supporters the SP, BSP and the RJD had decided to support Ansari along with the CPI (M), CPI and the Forward Bloc.
Five years ago, it was the CPI (M) which had suggested his name for the post of Vice-President. He was then the Chairman of the National Commission of Minorities.

Pak Prez Formed a Panel to Talk with Pak Hindus
Pakistan President Asif Ali zardari has set up a three member committee of Parliamentarians to meet and reassure Hindus in sindh of their security after their families decided to flee their homes. Zardari has taken serious notes of reports of the “Sense of Insecurity” among hindus families in sindh and directed authorities to address their unfair treatment and report to him. This panel consists of senator Hari Ram, National Assembly member Lal Chand and Federal Minister Moula Bakhsh Chandio.

India appoints ex-IMF economist Rajan as top adviser: SourcesChief Economic Advisor of India
Rashuram G. Rajan, a former International Monetary Fund (IMF) Chief economist who is currently employed as professor at Chicago University, is set to take over as India’s new chief economic advisor. The 49-year-old economist had achieved fame for his perception warming on the global financial crisis of 2008. Rajan will replace Kaushik Basu, whose term ended on July 31.
Global ratings agencies Fitch and Standard and Poor's have said India risks losing its investment grade sovereign rating if it does not tackle wide fiscal and current account deficits.
Rajan is the author of two books, Saving Capitalism from the Capitalists and Fault Lines, which won the Financial Times Business Book of the Year award in 2010.

Gujarati Literature Suresh Dalal Died  
Suresh dalal, the doyer of contemporary Gujarati literature and essayist died after a brief illmess at a mumbai hospital on 10 Aug 2012. He was 79. Suresh Parsho Hmadas Dalal had won sahitya Akademy Award for his work akahnd Zaar vage in2005. he served as vice chancellor of the Ms University of Baroda in late 1990s. He edited around 25 books mainly collections of essays and poetry.

Zakaria suspended by CNN/TIME Magazine
Indo – American Journalist and author Fareed Zakaria has been suspended by his employers and Time Magazine because he copied some Portions of an article he wrote on ” Gun Control for Time”, from the New Yorker Magazine. he suspended for one month.

Iran Struck  by Severe Earth Quake
Iran severely effected by two earth quakes. The magnitude of the first earth quake is 6.4 which struck of 60km north east of the city of Tabriz at a depth of 9.9km(6.2 miles), and Second quake measuring 6.3 struck 49km (30 miles),north east of Tabriz for 11 minutes. 250 people has been killed and about 1,800 are injured. 110 villages were damaged due to the earth quake. so many are left with home less.

Yogeshwar Dutt Won Bronze for India
The wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, who won a bronze medal for his success starved the country of suffering a badly swollen eye. The 29-year-old defeated North Korea’s Ri Jong – Myong to give India’s Fifth medal. 10 million rupees awarded to Yoigeshwar Dutt by chief Minister of Haryana Bhupinder singh Hooda.
